Sisu is a large-sized marine mammal species native to South Aisa. It is the national fish of India. They are habitat in freshwater in the Ganga river. For their body structure, they can swim very fast in the water. They have a long, pointed nose and thier teeth are visible in both the upper and lower jaws even when their mouth is closed. They are feeds shrimp, fish.

NAME & SCIENTIFIC NAME
Their scientific name is Platanista gangetica. They are also known as the Ganges river dolphin, South Asian river dolphin, Blind dolphin, Shushuk, Susu.
SCIENTIFIC CLASSIFICATION
Sisus belong to the family Platanistidae and the genus of Platanista. It is a species of marine mammal. There are 2 species in the world. Their conservation status is 'Endangered' due to hunting, habitat loss. These species are listed on the red list on ICUN.
HABITAT & LIVING LOCATION
Sisu is found in Southern Asia. They are habitats such as the freshwater rivers.
APPEARANCE
Sisu is a large-sized marine mammal species. They have a brownish color body. They have a long and pointed noses. Females are larger than males. An adult male's length is around 200 cm to 220 cm and on the other side, a female length is around 240 cm to 260 cm. Their weight is around 65 kg to 70 kg. They can swim at speed of up to 27 km/h.
DIET
Sisu is mainly part of the Carnivore diet, which means they eat meats. They mostly eat fish, shrimp.
LIFESPAN & LIFESTYLE
Their lifespan is up to 30 years in the wild. Sisu is a diurnal and solitary animal. But sometimes they live in a small group.
BREED
At the age of 10 years males and females, are ready to sexually mature. After the gestation period lasts around 10 months and born one baby in a breeding season. The young are called calves. Those young spend 1 year with their mothers.
